our history
Our history beginns after the World War II when my father, an officer of the defeated japanese army decided to emigrate with the whole family to Paraguay, but during the trip found his way to Brazil.
Without knowing a single word of portuguese he emigrated to Brazil to make a fortune working at the coffee plantations. Off course he never made any money as a worker at the coffee plantations, but after working for some years he decided to ground what today is our farm, the Sitio Kawabata.
Initially the area was used to grow peaches and grapes for the local market and slowlly they gave place to the persimmon trees which first where cropped also for the internal market, but latelly became our prime export product.
Today we are the biggest and most technified producer, packer and exporter of fresh persimmon fruit in Brazil and probably the sole who achieved a GLOBALG.A.P. certification without any restrictions.
Our second biggest product is sweet potatoes which is grown by a partner farmer under strict rules of Good Agricultural Practices following the rules of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture for this crop. The product is packed at our own facilities and shipped to Europe and North-America.
Our focus is 100% commitment to client satisfaction offering the best produce of our region together with the most comprehensive and reliable service backed by a history of more than 60 years in the fresh produce business.
